to the official web site for Cork Shortmat Indoor Bowls - the
Cork Zone of the Irish Indoor Bowling Association.
Short mat bowls is a very low cost sport played
indoors on special carpets. Unlike ten pin bowling, strength is not a
requirement. Anybody who would like to see how the game is played
should contact the Zone Convener (details on the left) and arrangements can
be put in place for you to visit your nearest club.
The Indoor
Bowls season normally runs from September to May. During the playing
season, a monthly newsletter is produced and distributed (by e-mail)
free of charge to all interested parties. The newsletter gives the
results of competitions, highlights upcoming events and generally
reports of the activities of the bowls community in the Cork Zone.
